Live, Love, Laugh

(Here’s a poem by Mehak reminiscing her school days she bid adieu to right before stepping into her college life this year.)

The chapters we never wanted to end.

A big gang of smart and crazy friends,

the alarm clock that rang as soon as we slept,

the time that never seemed to end,

between the first and the last bell.

The nonsense talks that never ended,

Getting scolded was something we all hated.

The smile that a free period bought,

A friend’s bag became the best cleaning rag,

the pitiful chocolate that got divided into ten pieces.

The fights that happened between the two,

but got the whole class involved.

Freedom greeted us as soon as we left the school doors.

Love, love, and laugh!

was what school life taught.

Now that it’s coming to an end,

I am going to miss it a lot.
